It just makes you exhausted. And exhaustion doesn’t lead to clarity — it leads to reactivity, collapse, or numbness.Calm isn’t compliance. Calm is capacity.<h3>Your nervous system is being recruited</h3>Here’s something we don’t talk about enough: your nervous system doesn’t know the difference between a real, immediate threat and a headline delivered with urgency.When you scroll, watch, listen, or absorb emotionally charged content, your body reacts first. Attempts to create control in an uncontrollable environment. Ways of proving we belong, that we care, that we’re on the “right side.”But presence doesn’t come from staying activated.
