I stopped and said hello, and immediately fell in love. They were mini dachshunds and although I have thought about getting a dog before, I had never really considered this breed. Since then, everywhere I go, I see this breed of dog. Don’t worry, I am not going to ruin this puppy story with nerdy brain stuff, BUT I do want to share why this could be of value to you when it comes to manifesting what you want into your life! It does a great job at keeping us alive. The problem is, that’s it’s only job. If we want to thrive, that part is up to us. I geek out over learning how to hack our brain to help us thrive and sharing it with you. Ok, so back to the RAS. We have billions of bits of information coming at our subconscious mind per second. Our conscious mind can only process about 120 bits per second. The job of our RAS is to be a bouncer if you will. It only lets into Club Brain what will keep us alive AND what is of interest to us. That is why once I made the decision that I wanted a mini dachshund, I started seeing them everywhere. Well, it plays a role in how we manifest, and I am about to share why that is. The reticular activating system (RAS) is a network of neurons located in the brainstem. It plays a crucial role in regulating wakefulness, arousal, and attention. Here's a breakdown of its main functions and its purported role in manifestation:Functions of the Reticular Activating System Arousal and Consciousness: The RAS is responsible for maintaining consciousness and alertness. It filters incoming stimuli and determines what is important enough to reach the higher brain centers, thereby keeping the brain alert and focused. Sleep-Wake Cycle: The RAS helps regulate the sleep-wake cycle by promoting wakefulness and inhibiting sleep. Attention and Focus: It plays a significant role in attention by filtering out unnecessary information and allowing important information to be processed. This selective attention helps you focus on specific tasks or stimuli.Ok, so what role does the RAS play in manifestation?&nbsp; Role in Manifestation Manifestation is the process of bringing something into your life through focused intention and belief. The RAS can play a role in this process in the following ways:Selective Attention: When you set a goal or intention, your RAS helps you notice opportunities and resources that are aligned with that goal. By focusing your attention on what you want to achieve, the RAS filters out irrelevant information and brings relevant information to the forefront. Reinforcement of Beliefs: The RAS can reinforce your beliefs by making you more aware of experiences and information that confirm your existing beliefs. If you believe strongly in your ability to achieve a goal, your RAS will highlight evidence that supports this belief, making it easier to stay motivated and confident. Visualization: Visualization techniques used in manifestation can stimulate the RAS. When you vividly imagine your desired outcome, the RAS treats these visualizations as real experiences, which can help program your subconscious mind to recognize and act on opportunities that lead to your goal.Long story short, your RAS is basically the gatekeeper between your subconscious mind and your conscious mind. Why does it need a gate keeper? Well, our subconscious mind has a LOT of information per second coming at it per second. WAY more than our conscious mind can handle. I imagine if there was no gate keeper we would look like the Fembots in Austin Powers with our heads about to explode. That is where the RAS comes in. The RAS only lets into our conscious mind, what is going to keep us safe and alive, AND, what is of interest to us. So when we get intentional about the things that we want, our brain will start to notice these things AND the things that will help us bring them about. Make sense?&nbsp;Ok, so now that we have this information, how do we use it to our advantage?&nbsp; Practical Application To harness the power of the RAS for manifestation, you can:Set Clear Goals: Clearly define what you want to achieve and why it is important to you. Visualize Success: Spend time each day visualizing your desired outcome as if it has already been achieved. Affirmations: Use positive affirmations to reinforce your beliefs and intentions. Stay Focused: Remain focused on your goals and be open to recognizing opportunities that align with them. The RAS helps filter and prioritize information, allowing us to stay focused on our goals and recognize opportunities that support our manifestation efforts. Yay!
