Smash Room Freedom Day: Because Sometimes Growth Is Loud
JC
Ever notice how we talk about healing like it’s always soft and peaceful?
Meditation. Journaling. Deep breaths.
Don’t get me wrong — I love all of that. But sometimes, growth isn’t quiet. Sometimes, it’s loud, messy, and covered in paint.
That’s exactly what this Freedom Day was about.
The Experience
For this trial run, we swapped the usual salt tanks and sound bowls for something with a little more edge — a smash room in St. Pete. Imagine walking into a room armed with bats, sledgehammers, and glasses filled with paint. Then imagine being told, “Go ahead. Let it all out.”
It’s part art, part chaos, part therapy.
And honestly? It’s freeing as hell.
Each swing of the bat, each crash of glass — it’s like giving your body permission to release the stuff your mind’s been holding onto. Anger. Grief. Frustration. Even that low-level tension you didn’t realize you were carrying until it wasn’t there anymore.
By the end, the walls were splattered, our canvases looked wild, and every ounce of built-up energy had transformed into something… beautiful.
Why It Matters
As a coach, I talk a lot about regulating your nervous system — about finding peace within chaos. But sometimes, peace starts after the storm.
The smash room reminded me that emotional release doesn’t have to look pretty. Healing doesn’t have to be quiet.
Sometimes your body just needs to move, to yell, to swing, to break something safely and say, “I’m done holding this.”

Your Turn
If you’ve been feeling that nudge to shake things up — to release what’s been stuck, to clear the energy, to reconnect with your power — maybe it’s time for your own Freedom Day.
Whether it’s stillness, salt water, or smashing paint-filled glasses, these experiences are about one thing: coming back to yourself.
Because freedom isn’t just a mindset — it’s something you feel in your body.
And sometimes, it sounds like glass shattering.
